The 1934 Ford was the first serious race car that George owned. It was powered by a 331 c.i. Cadillac engine with Dual-Quad Carbs which were later replaced by 4-2bbl Carbs and a McCulloch blower. This car initially ran in the class of B/G, with the blower it advanced class to A/G. The rules of this era required that cars have all the necessary equipment and license to be street legal. It was quite competitive, winning two of the early NHRA Drag Safari Meets in the Ohio area. He raced this ’34 from approximately the early ‘50s to October of 1959 when it was retired and replaced by the ’33 Willys. George sold the car in 1964 but after several years of negotiation, the car was acquired in 2004 and is now on display at the Don Garlits Museum of Drag Racing in Ocala, Florida.
